The births of Joseph's three children in New Brunswick were found by David LeRoy Thompson while he was researching the other Ostle families of New Brunswick; he was unable to suggest who was their father. It seems that Joseph was absent from Liverpool between 1824 and 1832 which would give him time to start this second family. No other Josephs seem likely to have had the opportunity to travel there nor to have had such close family ties in the area, although it is also possible that this was the Joseph b. October 27, 1808 at Seaville.

UNTIL FURTHER EVIDENCE IS FOUND, THIS MUST REMAIN A 'ROMANTIC GUESS'
